Weather Minimums
Safety is always our foremost concern. We maintain strict weather minimums to ensure the safety of our patients as well as our crews.
Our minimums are based primarily on two components:
Ceiling, the height of the clouds above ground level, and
Visibility, the distance we can see in front of the aircraft.
Our pilots are constantly aware of the current local conditions as well as forecasts. They have on-site weather tracking satellite information as well as readily available information from local and statewide airport towers.
One of the most little known or understood facts of helicopter transport is the fact that the aircraft is capable of flying in rain, snow and wind. We encourage you to call and check our availability even when you think we may be grounded, as we have frequently surprised local agencies as to our ability to respond.
